I've been at the helm of the first large format global glossy celebrating African fashion, culture and society since its inception in September 2008. ARISE launched at New York Fashion Week with the ARISE African Fashion Collective show and it is now sold in over 20 countries including the UK, South Africa, USA and Nigeria.
In its 13 issues to date, Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek and Alicia Keys have all graced the cover and ARISE has featured interviews with the likes of Morgan Tsvangarai, Tony Blair, Nas, Damian Marley, Don Cheadle, Jay-Z, Grace Jones and Idris Elba.
ARISE won Launch of the Year at the 2009 APA Awards and was Highly Commended in the same category at the BSME Awards.
